Totnes
Totnes is one of the most charming towns we have come across. Set on the banks of the River Dart, its colourful high street is packed with character, creativity and an incredible concentration of independents. From bakeries and cafés to bookshops, there seem to be more independent businesses per square metre than almost anywhere else we have visited. It’s the kind of place where you come for a coffee and end up spending the entire day wandering and chatting to passionate local owners.
