About Originario

ORIGINARIO was born in February 2022 as a countercultural platform to the normative artistic proposal that opens its doors to the colourful and diverse space that fosters collaboration between artists, artisans and designers for the exhibition and sale of their creations.

Led by Andrés Gutierrez, who is responsible for the selection, direction, and staging of the pieces, the project represents and celebrates the folklore of Mexican culture in its contemporary creative manifestations made in Mexico. The intention is collaborative; it seeks to discover and showcase alternative, young, emerging, and hidden Mexican talent, as well as work with established artists and designers on the local scene.

This spacious house, located in the heart of the Roma neighbourhood, features five spaces that are constantly being redesigned, and the pieces displayed there stand out for their originality. Each section is transformed independently, carefully maintaining balance, attention to colour, and an eclectic, maximalist aesthetic.
